LaserMaxx now in Vienna

Europe's largest laser tag game opens in Vienna

Vienna gets its first ever laser tag game this weekend when Europe's biggest LaserMaxx arena opens its doors tomorrow (Friday) at a 3,500 sqm battle arena in the 23th district.

Founded in 1995, LaserMaxx is the European market leader of professional laser game equipment and LaserMaxx CEO Marcel Rohrs said: "We have 135 arenas in more than 23 countries, and this weekend with our first venue here in Austria - we are present in 24."

Laser tag involves players attempting to score points by tagging targets using a hand held "laser" that fires an infra-red beam to hit the infra-red-sensitive targets worn by other players.

The giant LaserMaxx arena in Vienna covers an impressive 3,500 sqm with 2,500 sqm alone devoted to the game arena, and a further 1,000 sqm where the bar and restaurant area are located serving snacks like pizzas and hot dogs.

LaserMaxx Vienna manager Szilard Koos said: "The battle zone includes defence "towers", a sniper platform and a labyrinthine three-story climbing platform that reaches an incredible 7m at it's highest point. Teams can access two command modules on the ground as well as special features like remote power up crystals offering features like invisibility, spy colours, a defence shield and rapid fire."

With everything accident proofed with sponge wraps and softened floors the action couldn't be any safer, and organiser Koos added: "The games combine sport, fitness and a great time playing laser tag.

"It is an unconventional laser tag arena, instead of zombie or robot themes we aimed more at the "fun" part with five times more space to run and climb than a conventional arena.

"It's also a great team building sport for companies, or as a birthday or stag party event."

As an introductory offer the LaserMaxx team are offering a 50 percent off voucher to everyone who makes a reservation per email or through the homepage by 31.03.2012. That can be used the second time they come - or for a second game the same day.

Located at A-1230 Wien, Gutheil-Schoder-Gasse 17 , inside the BOGI PARK , reservations can be done on the home page www.laser-maxx.at. Group reservations and questions can be answered by emailing to info@laser-maxx.at.
