Luxury hotel See-Villa in Millstatt, Carinthia opens its doors anew to welcome the 2014 summer season and celebrates its 130th founding anniversary in Austria's summer capital.
Founded by Rudolf Shurer von Waldheim who spearheaded the development of Millstatt as an exclusive summer destination for the nobilities and elites of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the luxury hotel was built in 1884 by renowned architects Mayreder and Kochlin, artificers of the Etablissement Ronacher in Vienna. Von Waldheim was later recognized as the father of Millstatt because of such significant contributions.
It was the first hotel built next to the majestic Lake Millstatt, Hotel-See Villa boasts not only of magnificent milestones and an elite list of nobilities and important personalities who graced its historic facilities, but also of a well-preserved traditions that stay faithful to its original intent.
