A Russian driver who apparently wanted to scare a young woman pedestrian who had walked too slowly in front of her ran the young woman down after driving onto the pavement to give her a fright. The unidentified female motorist had been waiting to drive over a railway crossing while two female pedestrians in front of her in the Russian city of St Petersburg walked over the road in front of her, which apparently infuriated the driver. As they walked up onto the pavement, the Range Rover driver drove after them and apparently intended to drive alongside them to give them a scare, according to local media. But instead she ran one of the women down, and in dash cam footage from the car behind the woman is seen collapsing as the car crushes her leg. The driver, realising what she had done, stopped and got out to see her victim, but then drove off again before police arrived. Officers who took the car cam footage expected an easy arrest, until they discovered that the registration number was fake and actually belonged to a completely different car - a Chevrolet Spark. They have appealed for anyone that might know the woman to get in touch.
