Sido fans want Wurst in a gas chamber

The German rapper who was in charge of Germany's Eurovision song contest jury and who said Conchita Wurst belonged in a cage in a circus has let fans use his Facebook page to post homophobic comments against the Austrian drag queen.

The rapper called Sido had earlier denied that he gave the Austrian nil points because he was homophobic, but on his homepage he has allowed hateful comments to be left against the person he calls Mr Sausage.

One writes: "This filthy pervert tart belongs in the gas chamber" while another writes "We should s*** directly onto this embarrassing transvestite."

Another writes "A few years ago we would have shot something like that." which attracted the enthusiastic reply: "Can you still shoot one now."

Many of the comments are given enthusiastic likes by other Facebook users.

One user however that realised it was unlikely the rapper was going to do anything about it complained to Facebook, but only after several days did they react and that was only to remove one of the comments by a user named Adolf. All the others remained in place, after Facebook said all of the others met their acceptable standards for common usage.

The man who made the complaint said he was as shocked by Facebook's reaction as he was by the users themselves that had made the comments.

Earlier it was revealed that the expert panel from Germany voting at this year's Eurovision Song contest wanted to give Conchita Wurst "Nil Points" when it was led by Sido at this years event.

He had already sat on expert panels whose previous decisions had seen Conchita Wurst through to the final and he made no secret of the fact that he was not a fan.

And in one interview published in Austria before the contest when asked what he thought about Austria's entry to the competition, he replied: "I guess it was obvious that someone like Frau Wurst will go forward. In earlier times they used to be women with beards as well, but in the circus, in a cage. You'd pay your five pieces of gold and you could wander in and look at them. The only difference is that nowadays you get to see them for free, or at least if you pay your TV licence fee."

In the end the expert panel gave Conchita ranked her in 11th place which would have meant she got no points at all if it wasn't for the fact that the telly voting in Germany had placed her as a clear number one. This ended up ranking her when combined with the experts in fourth place in Germany. In total - seven points.

That means that if it had been down to the German public Austria would have got 12 points. Instead German singer Helene Fischer revealed it was 7 when she announced the results live during the competition.

Alongside Sido and the singer Andreas Bourani there was also Jennifer-Rostock frontwoman Jennifer Weist, songwriter Madeline Juno and Talentscout Konrad Sommermeyer on the expert panel.

But only Jennifer Weist seems to have been in favour of the Austrian, according to all the rest they tried to give her no points. An explanation as to why they rated her so low was not given when requested by German media.

Yet apparently beforehand Andreas Bourani had said that Conchita Wurst was one of his favourites before the event, adding: "I really think that she does have a very good chance of winning."

Sido however repeated his dislike, saying: "I think she's just weird." Instead the German jury had voted for Denmark, that ended up coming in at rank number nine.

The German vote however came as no surprise to Conchita and her team. They had already warned prior to the voting that they weren't expecting to get very many points on a jury that had Sido on the team. But despite his opposition it didn't stop her winning with a significant victory.

Sido, alias Paul Hartmut Wuerdig, is unlikely to see any consequences though as he seems to have a charmed life not just in Germany but also in Austria where he features frequently on the jury's of casting shows.

Last year a reporter working for the Austrian broadcasting Corporation that asked him questions he didn't like was punched by Sido. The end result was that Sido kept his job, but the reporter who was punched was sacked.

The ORF said it was looking to save money and denied the decision to axe reporter Dominic Heinzl was anything to do with the fight.

German rapper Sido, whose name is a shortening of the phrase Super Intelligent Drug Addict (super-intelligentes Drogenopfer), hit Heinzl and then proceeded to swear at him, bizarrely telling him it was a good thing his mother was dead as she was a prostitute. It is not the first scandal involving the rapper, who was fined 14,000 Euros for throwing a stone at a disabled woman in August 2007.
