Rocker of Ages
These OAP music fans may be more rock of ages than thrash metal.
But TV bosses in Germany are trying to turn the 25 care home residents into rock stars for a new show which will end with a live stadium gig in front of 50,000 fans.
The group - with a combined age of 2,203 - will rehearse with AC/DC hits like Highway to Hell and be given tips by real-life rock stars.
"In the home I live in there is nothing to do - this will be fun, a new lease of life. After all, most of us aren't much older than the Rolling Stones," said one.
Host Carsten Gelrotz said: "Young people forget that old folk were young once and got up to all the stuff they do now.
"The perfect rocker should head bang, smoke and shout and we're going to tap into their inner rock star."
